Who We Are

We exist to honor Christ and His Word by fulfilling the reason He came to earth, “To seek and to save what was lost,” Luke 19:10. It is our desire to glorify God and to obey the Bible by:

Winning lost people to Christ
Helping those in Christ to maturity
And in love and service, to meet the needs of people

WE WILL DO THIS BY INVOLVING PEOPLE IN FIVE AREAS OF SPIRITUAL GROWTH:

WORSHIP of God according to His Word. John 4:24; Acts 2:42; Ephesians 5:19-20.
FELLOWSHIP with God’s people on the first day of the week. Acts 2:42; Hebrews 10:25.
DISCIPLESHIP by teaching and leading people to be like Jesus. Matthew 28:19; John 13:34-35; John 8:31.
MINISTRY as we meet the needs of people through service. Mark 10:42-45; Ephesians 4:11-13.
EVANGELISM as we share with the lost God’s plan to save mankind. Matthew 28:18-20; John 15:8; Mark 16:15-16; Acts 2:38.

SOME DISTINCTIVES ABOUT THE CUMBERLAND COUNTY CHRISTIAN CHURCH

1. We Are Undenominational.

This simply means that we are not associated with any mainline denominational group. We are not a denomination and we have no headquarters except in heaven.

2. We Use The Bible Alone.

We use God’s Word as our only rule of faith and practice. We do not follow man-made creeds or doctrines. We simply follow the Bible regarding the pattern for the church.

3. We Are Christians Only.

We believe that the Bible only makes Christians only. We desire to just be Christians, and wear the name of Christ, since we belong to Him. We do not believe we are the only Christians, but we are striving to be “Christians only” in accordance with God’s Word.

4. We Baptize By Immersion In Water For the Forgiveness of Sins.

The Bible teaches that baptism is in water by immersion, and that its purpose is the time when God bestows forgiveness of sin and the gift of the Holy Spirit, when preceded by faith, repentance, and confession.

5. We Partake Of The Lord’s Supper Each Lord’s Day.

We partake of the loaf and the cup that represent the body and blood of Jesus shed on the cross. We do this each Sunday as they did in the New Testament.
